Undocumented West African immigrant tells his story of being in the United States when revolution in his home country prevented him from going home.

The story 26 years in the making couldn’t be released at a more relevant time in American history”

PALISADES, NY, USA, September 7, 2017 /EINPresswire.com/ -- President Trump may not be able to make up his mind on "DACA," but immigrant John Sesay is unwavering in his opinion of undocumented immigrants. In "A Lion Has No Horns," the newly released book from History Publishing Company, Sesay and co-author Erika Celeste recount the harrowing tale of his accidental citizenship.

In the spring of 1991, Sesay, a teacher from Sierra Leone was visiting the US when civil war broke out in his country. Returning home would have resulted in deadly consequences due to his association with the ousted regime. When his visa ran out, so did his place to stay. Homeless, hungry, and broke, Sesay hid in the shadow of the White House for nearly three years. Repeatedly threatened, physically and verbally abused, human trafficked Sesay never used a government program to rebuild his life. Relying on his own tenacity and unwavering faith in humanity, Sesay fought his way back not only to become a legal green card holder, but to get his master’s degree, and eventually to become a US Citizen. Co- Author Erika Celeste says "The story 26 years in the making couldn’t be released at a more relevant time in American history."
