Georgia Public Policy Foundation Celebrates National School Choice Week Jan. 22

Join experts Ashley Berner, Ben Scafidi in a discussion of education options for Georgia's children

ATLANTA , GEORGIA, UNITED STATES, January 15, 2019 /EINPresswire.com/ -- If no two children in a family have the same personalities and needs, imagine what it's like for the children in a classroom. Children have different personalities, learn at different paces and understand in different ways.

The speakers are Dr. Ashley Berner, deputy director at the Johns Hopkins University Institute for Education Policy, and Georgia Public Policy Foundation Senior Fellow Dr. Ben Scafidi.

Berner has published articles and book chapters on the relationship between educational structure and state funding in democratic nations, religious education and citizenship formation, and teacher preparation in different national contexts. Palgrave MacMillan published “Pluralism and American Public Education: No One Way to School” in 2017. She consults regularly on projects that examine the academic and civic outcomes of different school sectors. She is a Senior Fellow at the Center for the Study of Law and Religion at Emory University Law School. She holds degrees from Davidson College (Honors A.B.) and from Oxford University (M.Litt. and D.Phil. in Modern History).

Scafidi is a professor of economics and Director of the Education Economics Center at Kennesaw State University. He is also a Friedman fellow with EdChoice.
